Christian National Education moreThis is a VERY old paper (1993) that I wrote while in undergrad as a student teacher, on the Christian National Education system implemented by the Nationalist racist Apartheid government of South Africa. It was effectively a policy of brainwashing and declared the biblical superiority of the white race. It is very repetitive, unfortunately, and it's a series of JPEG scans, which I've not OCR'ed yet.
The argument shall describe what it sees as the origins of this particular document (Die Beleid - The Policy, in Afrikaans), that is, attempt to explain how such a document could be passed as law, by discussing and interpreting its historical context and the effects this context had on its authors and by showing it as a logical historical inevitability. After this the terms used by [Die Beleid] shall be defined, and it shall be shown how the document is not in concord with the principles of child-centred education, by means of an article-by-article quotation analysis, as well as stating the adverse moral and political aspects and consequences of Die Beleid.
